Triumphantly Entering Holy Week”

Colossians 2:14-15 KJV

[14] Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [15] And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

As the US braces for the “hardest week”, we will triumphantly journey into “Holy Week” because we are sure of its’ supernatural outcome.  We will venture forward with a faith that has been refined by the fire of our faith in God to carry us to a favorable future.  As Jesus gave a prophetic triumphant entry into Jerusalem, he was headed towards what many would experience as a tragedy.  However, it was the very prelude to our victory through the cross.

As we enter Holy Week, let us be reminded that even though we are being faced with tragedy, death and despair all around us, we will triumph because of the cross. Christ laid down his life so that we could have eternal abundant life.  That was a divine heavenly transaction that will never be cancelled out.  Instead, his death cancelled out the power death held over us.

Holy Week is a week of remembering the great sacrifice of Christ and invites us to reflect on his life.  The life of Christ is the eternal lifeline of every believer.  It is a lifeline that has conquered the power of death, hell and the grave.  The life of Christ has deposited within us resurrection life that causes us to rise above every experience of loss or death that we might face. We live, move and have our existence in the life of Jesus Christ. As he is in this world, so are we. We are the offspring of Jesus Christ. Total victory springs from his life to ours.

Holy Week should be a journey towards the cross but also an experience of anticipation of the resurrection which is to come. It should also remind us of victory that was released because of Christ laying down his life. We are to take up his life in this life and mirror it to the world.  It is a life of overcoming and pleasing God the father.  Because he lives, we can face tomorrow!

2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV

[21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I Still Believe,
